Terms of service
The terms that govern your use of the Taafi website and app.
Last updated: 21 July 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms of service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Taafi's website and app (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Taafi.
2. What Taafi is
Taafi is a booking platform that connects patients in Kuwait with independent, licensed clinicians — doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, and mental health professionals — for consultations by chat, video, clinic visit, or home visit, and that facilitates referrals for lab and radiology services through private partners.
Taafi itself does not practise medicine, provide clinical care, or employ the clinicians you book with. Clinicians who accept appointments through Taafi are independent professionals responsible for the professional judgment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice they provide. Taafi vets clinicians before they're listed, but is not a party to the clinical relationship between you and your clinician.
3. Not for emergencies
Taafi is not for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, or thoughts of harming yourself or others — call Kuwait's emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use Taafi to seek emergency care.
4. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a Taafi account. If you're managing care for a minor, you must do so through your own account, as their parent or legal guardian.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your identity, contact details, and date of birth.
- You're responsible for keeping your password and verification codes confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account.
- Let us know right away at support@taafihealth.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. Booking appointments
When you book an appointment, you're entering into an arrangement to receive a consultation from the clinician you select, at the time and through the channel you choose. Availability, pricing, and channels vary by clinician and are shown to you before you confirm a booking.
You can cancel or reschedule an upcoming appointment from your profile page. We recommend cancelling as early as possible so the slot can be made available to someone else. A clinician may also need to cancel or reschedule an appointment; if that happens, we'll do our best to help you rebook.
6. AI-assisted specialty suggestions
If you describe your symptoms while booking, Taafi may use an AI model to suggest which specialty to book. This suggestion is a general starting point only — it is not a medical diagnosis, is not reviewed by a clinician before being shown to you, and should never be relied on in place of professional medical advice or emergency care. Always use your own judgment, and seek immediate emergency care if your symptoms are severe.
7. Fees and payment
Fees for consultations, and for any lab or radiology services referred through our partners, are shown to you before you confirm a booking. [Payment processing details, refund policy, and accepted payment methods to be added here once billing is finalized.]
8. Clinicians using Taafi
If you're a clinician, submitting an application means you confirm that the professional license, qualifications, and other information you provide are accurate and current. We review applications before granting access to accept bookings, and may suspend or remove access if information provided turns out to be inaccurate, or if you fail to meet the professional or conduct standards we require of clinicians on Taafi.
9. Acceptable use
When using Taafi, you agree not to:
- Provide false information about your identity, health, or (if applicable) professional credentials.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could harm, disable, or impair Taafi or another user's use of it.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse the Service or its content beyond normal, intended use.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or abuse clinicians, patients, or Taafi staff.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Intellectual property
The Taafi name, logo, and the design, text, and software that make up the Service are owned by Taafi or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any right to use Taafi's branding or content beyond what's needed to use the Service as intended.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taafi disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any clinician's advice, diagnosis, or treatment will meet your expectations or needs — clinical outcomes are the responsibility of the treating clinician, not Taafi.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taafi and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for the acts or omissions of any independent clinician you book through Taafi. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Kuwaiti law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Taafi harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using Taafi and delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect Taafi, our users, or the public.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Kuwait.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Taafi after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
